Spatio?temporal rainfall variability and trend analysis in the <scp>Tekeze?Atbara</scp> river basin, northwestern Ethiopia

Spatial and temporal rainfall variability analysis at a basin scale is essential to understand water availability for sustainable resource management. This study investigated the spatial distribution trend in Tekeze river using daily data collected from 43 meteorological stations with records 1960 2019. Coefficient of variation, seasonality index (SI) were used evaluate monthly, seasonal annual basin. The non-parametric Mann-Kendall's test was any trends. Results showed that there moderate Rainfall higher Tsedey, Bega Belg than kiremt season. SI results majority categorized as seasonal, most rain occurring less 3 months. Overall, result revealed no significant except four stations. characteristics short duration indicate need implement harvesting measures during wet season use dry periods.
